The Word Giving…

Yard Sales ~ Garage Sales ~ Estate Sales…Whatever you would like to label it, they all come down to the same thing. Selling your items from your home, which are a collection of Items acquired a certain period of time, now comes the time to pass them on to others. For as the saying goes “What’s garbage to one is a Treasure to another”.

But something else to unfolded within myself upon the last yard sale I had. Just had a yard sale last weekend and while sitting outside enjoying the sunshine and the conversations that unfolded with many individuals, it made me recognize something within myself.
In today’s society, so many folks are finding ways to make money, holding on to their money but will spend upon their needs/wants/desires. Interesting enough the folks that go to the yard sales, garage sales or estate sales are all doing one thing. Browsing, conversing, and finding pleasure to spend money in ways that mean something to them which equals a savings.
As it is for the retail stores giving their customers various sales on items that will attract them to buy within their store…yard sales, garage sales or estate sales just put out what they have, and who ever journeys to their location will have some type of connection.
But the main thing that encountered my mind cells is this: People like me, put items out, that have pricing for others to review and purchase if desired. The folks that come to see what you have, wander around and take in the surroundings. First they will look and then something will attract them to hold it. Then excitement comes into place ~ then the bargaining begins. I am not saying this happens to every single individual but the mass majority, it does.
I have learned that items you put out for a yard sale, garage sale or even an estate sale the pricing is a tad higher. Reason being, everyone loves to feel that they made a fair purchase, even if it’s a nickel. There is not one item that I have put out that there wasn’t some type of bargaining. Folks want the item, but feel so empowered when they ask will you take a little less for it. Upon them asking, you hesitate for a moment, and if it’s reasonable, you let them have it for their price.
The Gift of a Yard sale, Garage sale or estate sale is the giving. The gift of giving is a two way giving. Meaning, you’re selling the item, they feel that they saved some money and purchased the item that they wanted/desired or needed and you actually got what you wanted out of it, the item to be gone and money in the pocket. Everyone comes out a winner no matter how you look at it.
Now let me touch on another unfolding moment…Conversations. There are many people who stop at these yard sales, garage sales and estate sales for connection, not a purchase. There are so many people who are lonely that will go to these events to connect, to chat, to laugh, to smile or just simply enjoy the conversation of whatever unfolds. There are people who want to talk but have no one to listen to them. I found that being outside; enjoying the environment slows me down a tad, and allows me to converse with others. It’s amazing the various types of conversations that are shared.
Another way of networking with individuals. Lending an Ear…some time…and giving back.
I always wondered why some households have yard sales, garage sales or estate sales on a regular basis… It’s not about the money, it’s not about what you have to sell or give away…it’s the opportunity to meet new folks. Because I have learned from the last several yard sales that I have been a part of, it has demonstrated to me that each one has different crowds with different needs, different wants, different desires but ALL wanting the One Thing. Connection.
Connection can be interpreted in many ways. Connection of communication ~ Connection of material items ~ Connection of Money ~ Connection of a Smile ~ Connection of an Ear ~ Connection of Time ~ Connection of EnJoyment.
The word Giving has a new meaning for me in Yard Sales ~ Garage Sales ~ Estate Sales. Giving is Giving to Each other without greed. People Helping People in a Full Circle of Life.

Got Struggles ~ Dilemmas ~ Confusions ???

Got Struggles ~ Dilemmas ~ Confusions????

I believe that the reason individuals go through struggles, dilemmas or have confusion is due to their own choices.  Most times without recognizing within one self or due to denials that are not faced up to with the reality of the facts, simple messes in one’s life become more of an impact than maybe what needs to be.

I’ve been down this path a time or two (or more) but to be honest with you, I have learned that when I have a struggle, a dilemma or am simply confused about a situation, I turn to God (The Universe, Our Lord, and Higher Being – whatever title you are more comfortable with).  The Ultimate Energy from God makes the occurring situation less than more impacted by the negativity.  Faith within has an energy that is connected with the Holy Spirit to assist in times of trouble ~ times of need.

This morning I asked God what should the message be today as I held the Bible in my hands.  With the energy that is given, the book is open and this is what was shown to me.

Getting the message out there to all and letting them know that instead of putting your own powers, your own thoughts in the know-how’s, simply turn to God first ~ not last.  So many individuals wait to the very last source to finally turn to God for an answer.  Then when God does not respond on the individuals’ time frame, the individual fester’s more anger and then blames God for the outcome.

God should be the First Place to turn to when you are facing struggles or dilemmas.  WE often go our own way and wait until it is too late.  Trying to control our own lives without God’s assistance leads to struggle and confusion but when we stay aligned with our spiritual side with God on a daily basis we are less likely to create long, painful circumstances.  So when there is a struggle, dilemma or confusion on your path, seek God’s strength and guidance.  You’ll be surprised of the outcome.
